1.0 General Description
The D9510 is a Passive Infrared Detector U. L. Listed as an Access Control
Device under U. L. 294 standard. It is designed for “request to exit” applications.
Technology designed into the D9510 is based on the principle that all objects
emit infrared energy. The warmer an object is, the more infrared energy
emitted. Its Passive Infrared technology allows the D9510 to detect the
change in infrared energy that occurs when a person passes through its field
of view.
The relay output consists of two Form “C” contacts that can be adjusted to
latch from approximately 0.25 to 60 seconds. The latch time features two
modes of operation, resettable (r), and non-resettable (nr). The relay can also
be programmed to fail safe or fail secure in the event of power loss.
The D9510 may be either ceiling or wall mounted, and its pattern may be
aimed and/or masked for more effective use based on installation needs. It is
not designed as a primary means of exit for emergency egress applications.
The D9510 is available in a white (D9510W) or black (D9510B) enclosure.
2.0 Specifications
• Input Power: 12 or 24 VDC or VAC.
35 mA @ 12 VDC, 38 mA @ 24 VDC.
38 mA Avg. @ 12 VAC, 45 mA Avg. @ 24 VAC.
• Standby Power: There is no internal standby battery. If standby power is
desired, connect to power sources capable of supplying it in the event
primary power fails. Provide 38 mA-H for each hour of standby time
required.
• Alarm Relay: Two Form “C” contact sets rated 1 A @ 30 VDC maximum
for DC resistive loads.
Note: When connecting directly to inductive loads that do not provide a
rectifier or voltage spike protection, the use of a General
Instrument #KBL005 bridge rectifier is recommended.
• Operating Temperature: -20° to +120°F (-29° to +49°C). For U. L.
Certificated installations, the temperature range is +32° to +120°F (0° to
+49°C).
• Enclosure Design: Available in white (D9510W) or black (D9510B)
enclosure. The enclosure measurements are: 1.5" H., by 6.25" W., by 1.5"
D. (3.8 cm H., by 15.8 cm W., by 3.8 cm D.).
